Visit Family in Canada COVID-19 | Travelling to Canada During Covid

Under normal circumstances, visitors could simply apply for a Visitor Visa or Electronic Travel Authorization to come to Canada temporarily. However, travelling to Canada during covid is different. Under certain circumstances, family members of Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents can apply to travel to Canada.

Letter of Invitation

If they need a visitor visa, you may provide your family member or friend with a letter of invitation in support of their visa application. A letter of invitation can help, but it also does not guarantee the person will get a visa.

Supporting documents may include:

  1. A copy of proof of your status in Canada. For example, your study permit or PGWP.

  2. Letter of invitation

  3. Verification of Enrolment letter, Graduation Invitation Letter, or PGWP completion letter – whatever is applicable to your current situation

  4. Proof of Finances (if you are supporting your family financially for their proposed trip)
