Immigrate to Canada as a Caregiver or Home Support Worker
The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot are 5-year pilot programs that let qualified caregivers and their family members come to Canada with the goal of becoming permanent residents.
If you have a job offer as a caregiver in Canada or you have Canadian work experience as a caregiver, you may be eligible to apply for Permanent Residence through one of these pilot programs.
Home Childcare Provider Pilot 2020
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) places a cap on the number of applications they will accept through pilot programs in Canada. The Home Childcare Provider Pilot has closed for new applications for 2020. However, the pilot will reopen on January 1, 2021.
Home Support Worker Pilot 2020
IRCC is not yet close to reaching the cap for the Home Support Worker Pilot. As such, you can still submit an application under this pilot for 2020.
Home Childcare Provider Pilot 2021 & Home Support Worker Pilot 2021
IRCC recently released Canada’s immigration plan for 2021-2023. The overall planned Permanent Residence admissions for 2021 is 401,000. This is the highest amount of immigrants to be admitted to Canada since 1913.
One of IRCC’s priorities is economic immigration. Immigration Canada aims to admit 232,000 immigrants through immigration programs. Of these 232,000 immigrants, IRCC has set a goal for 8,500 immigrants through economic pilot programs, including the Home Childcare Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot.
