The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) held three draws in the month of April, which is more than any other month in 2020. The OINP searches the Express Entry pool to find candidates who meet the criteria for one of Ontario’s Express Entry immigration streams.
When a candidate from the Express Entry pool receives an OINP invitation, they are invited to live and work in Ontario.
Entrepreneur Stream ITAs - April 22nd, 2020
The OINP issued 26 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Entrepreneur Steam on April 22nd, 2020. Expressions of Interest received and scored by the OINP Entrepreneur Stream between November 22, 2019 and April 17, 2020 were eligible for consideration for this ITA round.
ITAs were issued for Expressions of Interest that received a score between 132 and 200 points.
Targeted Streams - April 29th, 2020
The OINP issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream. The OINP targeted those with work experience in the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes:
7235 Structural metal and platework fabricators and fitters
7236 Ironworkers
7241 Electricians
7244 Electrical power line and cable workers
7252 Steamfitters, pipefitters and sprinkler system installers
7271 Carpenters
7282 Concrete finishers
7291 Roofers
7302 Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews
7312 Heavy duty equip mechanics
7313 Refrigeration and AC mechanics
7316 Machine fitters
7318 Elevator constructors and mechanics
7371 Crane operators
French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream - April 30th, 2020
On April 30, 2020 the OINP issued NOIs to candidates who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. NOIs were issued to candidates who had a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) between 432 and 454.
Each year, the federal government (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) allocates a certain amount of nominations to the Ontario Government for the OINP. As of April 9,2020, 2,098 nominations have been issued.
