Did you know about Canada’s new multi-year immigration plan?
At the end of 2017, the government of Canada released a multi-year immigration plan effective from 2018 to 2020. Canada is set to welcome 310,000 permanent residents in 2018. This number will increase to 330,000 in 2019, and 340,000 in 2020.
This immigration plan is broken down into different categories. Some of the targets for 2018 include:
74,900 Federal High Skilled Workers
17,000 Caregivers
66,000 Spouses, Partners, and Children
20,000 Parents and Grandparents
This plan indicates that the government aims to admit 242,100 immigrants through the Express Entry System within the next three years. Yearly targets are as follows:
2018: 74,900
2019: 81,400
2020: 85,800
